A COMICS LIFE RADIO
Billy Batz, co-host of "A Comics Life", grew up in group homes throughout Albany, New York. He had dreams of becoming a comedian… or a male exotic dancer. Quickly realizing that his less than perfect build and overly hairy body was less than Ideal for the exotic industry, he instead aimed for the one reachable dream and set his goals on over drive.
Billy got his start in radio as A regular guest on Combat Radio then moved on to co-host Guy Talk Radio and feels blessed to be able to work with the talented Sandy Stotzer on "A Comics Life".
Today, Billy is one of the hardest working, best kept secrets in the stand up comedy world. He has performed in front of sold out comedy shows and has appeared on several television shows and films including Reno 911, I Am Comic, Sleeper Cell, Yes Man and many others.

Sandy Stotzer was born in Chicago in 1952 to an unwed mother, and immediately put up for adoption. Five months later, he was adopted by a wonderful couple (Sam and Midge Stotzer) and began to show signs of being funny even as a child. Although raised as a classical musician playing the trumpet from the age of five, Sandy was always a “closet comic.”
Sandy’s family eventually moved from Chicago to Northern California where he began to showcase his comedic talents while attending Saratoga High School helping to create Gross Gems Productions, an amateur film company specializing in comedy film shorts. The films were an instant hit, taking five awards out of their six films entered at the annual Eastman Kodak International Film Festival.
Gross Gems film showings became so popular, they later added “live sketch comedy” between films, creating a unique and well rounded ninety minute show, selling out every performance. Forty years later their films still run today on television.
Although accepted at The Julliard School of Music in New York City, Sandy chose California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles for his college experience. It was here that Sandy fell in love with radio, television and the entertainment world in general.
After college, Sandy moved back to Northern California where he was given his own weekly television talk show during the early days of cable. Years later he moved back to Los Angeles where he performed regularly at “The Comedy Store” and “The Improv” in a comedy improvisational group and eventually worked his way into stand-up comedy.
The rest is history. For more years then he’d like to admit, Sandy has shared his hilarious style of insanity with millions of people coast to coast performing in clubs, colleges, numerous television  commercials, national stand-up spots on networks such as BET (Black Entertainment Television) and finally to his ABC Pilot.
Today Sandy has been married to his beautiful, very successful and tolerant wife Beatrice, for the past thirty eight years. Without her love and support Sandy is convinced his life wouldn’t have a fraction of the richness it has today. They have two grown sons, Nick (his oldest) who is a Pastor along with his wife Kimberly at a church in Southern California and Tony (Sandy’s youngest son) is a budding television producer in the Los Angeles area. Sandy is more than proud of them all.
