I’ve been an entertainer for pretty much my whole life. I started in choir and worked my way into theater. At around the same time, I started singing lead in rock-bands.
Then I thought it might be nice to actually make a living, so I got into acting in film and television; hell I even did a few porn shoots.
Oddly enough, it was working in porn that started me off in radio.
I had done a few shoots with Amanda Blow, and she asked me to go on The Dr. Susan Block Show with her. I did so and Dr. Suzy invited me to come back on the show a dozen times, or so, more.
It was on the Dr. Susan Block Show that I met Dawn Michael. Dawn was a Sex Therapist with her own talk radio show, on BlogTalk Radio. Dawn offered me a co-host position on her show and I accepted. She was all about “why” and I was all about “why not’.
We called our show, “Sex Talk w/ Dawn & Bon”.
After “Sex Talk w/ Dawn & Bon, I decided to try doing my own radio talk show. I had the bright idea to call the show, “It Is What It Is an hour w/ Bon Jon Syn”. Yikes! It was a great idea, but wrong title; just too damn long.
So, after a year of “It Is What It Is an hour w/ Bon Jon Syn” the decision was make to change the show title to “Bon Talk”. Ah, much better. I did “Bon Talk” on and off again for five, or so, years.
Then I got a call from Amanda Blow asking me to do a segment called “News That Blows” on her new talk radio show, “Blow X Blow”, on KCAA Radio. This is where I met Gary Garver. Gary liked my “News That Blows!” segments and offered me the opportunity to do a whole one-hour show of “News That Blows”.
I feel that I’m living the dream hosting “News That Blows!” here on KCAA Radio, and plan to do the News That Blows for a very long time. And, I will.
Because, as long as there’s news, there will always be “News That Blows!”
