In segment one, Barry interviews James Reston, Jr. James is a prolific writer with 17 books to his credit.  In 2007, on the orginal version of “Culture Shocks”, Jim and Barry discussed his book, "The Conviction of Richard Nixon". www.restonbooks.com/the-conviction-of-richard-Nixon.html.
Reston was the key researcher for one of the country’s most viewed television specials in history; the historic interviews that David Frost did with former President Richard Nixon just 3 years after Nixon's resignation in disgrace.
Over 85 million people watched the final episode on CBS in which Nixon discussed Watergate.  The biggest question for many of them was,  would Nixon actually apologize for what his actions did to America?
Reston also was frustrated that Frost wasn’t willing to probe certain questions (still unanswered to this day) - including whether Nixon boasted that as President, he could walk into another room and push a button that would kill 20 million people.
During segment two, Barry talks with Tane Danger, an extraordinary millennial satirist and co-founder of the improvisational comedy troupe "The Theater of Public Policy".
Tane thinks the Frost/Nixon interviews were a masterpiece of American television.
Tane and Barry explore the parallels that exist between an embittered Nixon and Donald Trump and “speculate” about the possible fate of the Trump Presidency.

ABOUT TANE
Tane has been performing, directing, and teaching improv comedy since 2003. After stints working for state, local and international nonprofits, and some political campaigns, he thought, “Isn’t there some way to bring improv into all this?” The Theater of Public Policy was born! Tane still has a tough time explaining what he does for a living to his parents.
