Barry met Liz Miele when they were both doing John Fuegelsang's XM/Sirius show "Tell Me Everything" and is enamored by here observational and political humor.

Liz explores her early days in comedy clubs including the challenges of being too young to drink but performing in clubs with alcohol and a routine that went viral about "feminist sex positions" (since this is not FCC compliant and some of you listen to this on radio, here is a link to a live performance).
She and Barry also share views about the horrific enactment of a complete abortion ban in Alabama and the annoyance of robocalls.

Deana McCloud is the executive director of the Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma which houses a gigantic collection of materials relating to one of America's greatest songwriters--Woody Guthrie.  The Center has just celebrated it sixth anniversary and Barry was there for the festivities and academic presentations about Woody's role in music and culture.

Deana and Barry review some of Woody's life history and the nearly immeasurable impact he had on generations of American activists and musicians.  Deana tells the story of the first time Bob Dylan visited the Center (in the same town that his own archives will soon be housed) and she and Barry take a look at the extraordinary benefits of government funding of the arts (Roosevelt's New Deal provided money for Guthrie as well as gave a chance to rising women and African American writers and poets).  Many Americans are also not aware of the role musicians played in progressive political movements and electoral campaigns during and after the Great Depression so they chat about that as well.
