On July 4, l976 the number one record in America was "Afternoon Delight" by the quartet Starland Vocal Band.  One member of the group was Jon Carroll who joins Barry to chat about what happened to the band, his relationship with superstar John Denver, and the value of today's music competition shows like "The Voice".
Jon and Barry play some of Jon's latest solo work and describe his travels as keyboardist for Mary Chapin Carpenter.

Author James Reston, Jr. joins Barry again (this time live) to discuss the possible parallels between the efforts to impeach Richard M. Nixon and developing campaign to impeach Donald J. Trump.  Reston has just unearthed his own as yet unpublished diary of the months he spent in Washington in 1974 just before Nixon's resignation.  He and Barry explore the long and difficult road to impeachment and why pundits may be missing the boat searching for a "smoking gun" in  the form of a specific statute Trump violated.
Reston was the person British satirist David Frost tapped to prepare him for his extraordinary CBS interview of Nixon about Watergate (this was the subject of the archival interview last year. Buy his books HERE
